Adsorption of iodide anions onto Ag(111)

In this work, adsorption process of iodide anions onto Ag(111) was investigated using cyclic voltammetry (CV), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and differential capacitance (Cdiff vs. w) measurements. Fitting of experimental results was performed by using commercial program for fitting defined by Gamry Instruments Inc. in EIS 300 software, as well as by equation for Cdiff vs. w dependence defined in our previous investigations for anion adsorption, containing Constant Phase Element – corresponding to the double layer capacitance (CPEdl) connected in parallel with adsorption capacitance (Cad) and adsorption resistance (Rad). Although the Cdiff vs. w were obtained from the EIS measurements, significant difference in parameters for anion adsorption obtained by both procedures indicated that the analysis of Cdiff vs. w dependence is more reliable.
